Strengths: fantastic sound, small size, runs cool, looks great
Weaknesses: no bass boost, no speaker level input
Summary: I upgraded from an analog Alpine MRP F450 and the PDX's licensed Bang Olfusen ICEPower digital amplifier makes my stock components sound as incredibly detailed as a good pair of headphones!

The build quality is as good as the F450 but lighter, smaller and doesn't run hot at all. It has line level inputs and adjustment, but no bass equalizer and speaker level inputs. Being Alpine's top-end amplifier it seemed to make sense. It's capable for 2/3/4 channel and the crossovers go as low as 30hz. At 30hz when using a subwoofer you may not need a bass EQ. Additionally feeding it speaker level inputs will negate it's sound quality.

Alpine tested mine at 172 watts (344 bridged) but the specifications conservativity rate it as 150 watts. It's size, sound quality, cool performance and build quality hinting at longevity make this worth the extra cost.

Strengths: Small, sleek, powerful
Weaknesses: bit expensive
Summary: This is a pretty cool amp. It is small, mountable on the back seat, and looks great. Has blue lights, build fairly well. I'm running 4 components Polk mmc6500, Sounds great. Plan on getting the mono amp to match pdx 1000. The speaker plug is pretty innovative as well. A show amp indeed as powerful.
